Bacon Cheese Chowder
A yummy cheese chowder. The bacon really adds to the flavor.
- 2 slices Field Bacon, diced
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- Cook bacon in a large skillet just until crisp; add onions and celery and cook in bacon grease until tender. Stir in flour and salt. Gradually add milk. Cook over low heat until smooth and thick, about 12 minutes. Stir often.
- Add cheese and stir until melted.
