Bacon Green Beans

A delicious side to any meal.


  • 16 ounces cut green beans, fresh or frozen
  • 6 slices Field Bacon
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch


  1. In a large skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Drain bacon on paper towels, leaving most of drippings in the skillet.
  2. Crumble bacon and set aside. In remaining drippings, cook onion until just tender.
  3. In a bowl or measuring cup, combine water with vinegar; stir in cornstarch.
  4. Add liquid to skillet with sugar, and salt.
  5. Cook, stirring, until thick and bubbly.
  6. Prepare green beans and add to mixture, stirring to coat with the sauce.
  7. Heat well; transfer green beans to serving dish and top with crumbled bacon.
